Update on the Update

Ugh...just got the report that after 45 minutes of monitoring that "M's" contractions are only 20-30 minutes apart -- her OB said they are usually looking for more like 5 minutes apart...double ugh!

A bit disappointing, huh?! Oh, and she's only 1-2 cm dilated -- which is what she was 3 weeks ago.

HUH???!!!!

Someone hand me a cocktail, please!...this is a bit much to take! LOL.
(Oh, I already have one in my hand..."someone get me another!!")

On the "TMI" front...her OB did what they call membrane sweeping...to, you know, get things going.

All I can say is..."OUCH!!!"...

Drama ensues. More to come. Stay tuned!

In the meantime...

  11. I was already getting nervous for you. Don't worry, your little angel won't stay in. My little treasure Jennifer came 12 days post due date and the membrane sweeping was da thing! After that we got the good contractions to start and increase. It wasn't hurtful either. At that stage you just want to go to labour and get that baby out so a little membrane sweeping is nada.
Hugs from the land of Vikings :)

  17. Being someone who has now experienced 4 births, 2 of which involved membrane sweepings - don't worry about it! Sounds icky but it's NOTHING compared to 40ish weeks of pregnancy and ultimately letting that baby out! But remember, it's one of those things that "will ONLY work if you were actually about to go into labor anyway". I had a membrane sweep on my due date with my first and still didn't go into labor until 12 days later. My 3rd was 42weeks+1day and membrane sweep was what *finally* got us going :)
