In the meantime, lots happened this week. We are almost done with our registry, which means we have made multiple trips to the baby stores to try things out, kick the tires of the strollers, see if they fit in the trunks of our cars, make sure the wood of the crib will match the room (we're so gay), try on baby slings, and shop, shop, shop...thank goodness for baby showers and the fact that everyone loves babies. Cuz this one is gonna be SPOILED.
Here are some photos of our baby preparations and adventures this past week...
Chloe waiting for her little sister to arrive...oh and the nursery to be done!
Bill trying on a sling (not that kind!). Note the fake baby (?)
Even the tallest stroller looks like a mini-stroller next to me... and yes, my eyes are closed!
Yay for registries and preparing the nursery!! So exciting to pass 24 weeks!!
ReplyDeleteIt´s not that strange that you are trying the stroller with closed eyes. You probably imagined how it would be walking around as a proud father.
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
Yay for 24 weeks! The Stokke looks good on you! We put the Trip Trap chair by them on our registry. Love the swedes!
ReplyDeleteK
Baby gear looks good on you both! Can't wait until there's a REAL baby inside those contraptions! Congrats on viability! It wont' be long, now!
ReplyDeleteIt's coming up so fast! It's funny because my IPs are European, which I'm only assuming is why they haven't mentioned any of the "stuff" yet. The only thing we've talked about is the crazy American car seat laws and I had to send hospital pamphlets and web links to explain what an infant seat is!
ReplyDeleteI *love* the pic with the doll in the carrier. I couldn't have resisted teasing if I happened to witness that in the store!
Ok...if your looking at the Ergo (the baby carrier Bill was trying) is the best for a slap em on type carrier (I prefer the wrap myself...but not everyone is into that and see it as kind of "granola") lol. And the Stokke stoller is pretty rad! If you need a stroller that has good height on it, try the Uppa Baby Vista...it has good handle height and lots of leg room and is a good $500 less then the Stokke. I work in a high end baby store lol so I could give you lots of tips!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd like Jeni said...baby gear looks great on you both!!! Congrats on getting to the next milestone!!!
YAY! I want to have another baby just for all of the showers and SHOPPING! LOL!
ReplyDeleteReally, really fooled me with that baby in the carrier. Six months - well done. Hopefully the next almost three will fly by.
ReplyDeleteYay for milestones! The best milestone ever is birth! Enjoy the prepping, it's full of fun!!
ReplyDeleteMy partner and I still waiting for a positive result but I already stop in stores trying out strollers. We live in manhattan so we like the ones that look like hummers! We love reading your guys blog (and just started our own gaybiesindia.blogspot.com). Good luck.
ReplyDeleteGee 6 months, it's gone so quick - well for me anyway! Doug I'm glad you are learning the skill of sleeping standing up coz you just might need it in a few months!!
ReplyDeleteand the eyes are closed for a reason? Feeling the handle...it's all in the touch...such a cool gay Daddy. The sling jab..too funny...looks like Chloe ain't movin' until Missy gets home...it's all comin' together...so nice to watch!
ReplyDeleteHey guys! I just noticed your picture in my list of followers so I clicked over and, wow! You guys are great! Very exciting stuff. I've read a few of your posts, but I need to read farther back to the origins of your journey.
ReplyDeleteWe attempted surrogacy. It didn't work out for us, so we adopted. But I wish you guys all the luck in the world.
I am so happy for you guys and I can not wait till I am at that point that your at 2.5 months for me to start and I cant wait.
